Support for Prototype Specialist Manufacturer S Company’s U.S. Market Expansion and Establishment of a Local Subsidiary

marketing case study

Background

Consulting Client: Prototyping Specialist Manufacturer S
In Japan, the company has earned trust from numerous customers for its high precision and short lead times in the prototyping field, but this is its first venture into the U.S. market. To acquire new customers in the U.S., the company is considering exhibiting at trade shows and has requested recommendations for U.S.-based trade shows suitable for the prototyping sector.

Assista’s Support

Provided an annual “Expatriate Representative Service” contract, conducting sales and marketing activities in the United States on behalf of Company S. Exhibited at the Japan booth at IMTS (International Manufacturing Technology Show), hosted by JETRO Chicago, in 2018. Subsequently exhibited at major trade shows including EASTEC, WESTEC, and FABTECH, and supported the establishment of a local subsidiary in Chicago in 2020.

Results

Acquired information on over 500 potential customers and successfully expanded sales not only to Japanese companies but also to local firms like GE. The key to success was “speed.” By committing to a 48-hour quotation turnaround and a minimum manufacturing lead time of one week, we differentiated ourselves from American competitors.
